This expansive field has required countless hours for Eric to achieve his current level of expertise. To excel as a generalist necessitates a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in modeling, lighting, texturing, animating, coding, compositing, and rendering. Leveraging this extensive knowledge, Eric established a YouTube channel, Polygon Division, where he disseminates his technical acumen. ► YouTube @PolygonDivision

As a generalist, Eric's primary focus lies in product visualization and 3D content creation for video production and websites. Character design and animation fall outside his typical scope of work. Should a product from an engineering department require animation, rigging, texturing, and lighting to be brought to life, Eric is an ideal candidate to undertake such projects.

Please refer to the software technology provided below.

Product visualization involves collaboration with engineering and design teams, material designers, and creative directors to achieve the desired aesthetic for a product across television, web, and print media.

Eric possesses expertise in managing diverse engineering formats, which are subsequently translated into Cinema 4D. The combination of a high-quality material design Substance Engine and the Redshift renderer yields imagery comparable to studio-grade quality.

Furthermore, the animation of complex products frequently necessitates sophisticated rigs and Xpresso programming.

Motion tracking involves either following an object within a scene or tracking the camera's movement. This capability enables the attachment of a 3d object to an element in the scene, or the placement of a 3D object in a scene with its tracking data adjusted accordingly.

Various types of trackers exist, including camera trackers, planar trackers, and point trackers.

With extensive experience spanning diverse content types, Eric demonstrates exceptional proficiency in video editing. His particular expertise lies in crafting compelling long-form and short-form broadcast commercials, along with impactful pre-roll advertisements. A significant emphasis of his work is placed on the dynamic realms of motorsports and action sports, where his signature style shines through. Eric's mastery of high-intensity sequences, rapid cuts, and seamless shot transitions is a true specialty, bringing a visceral energy to every project.

The visual impact of Eric's edits is far-reaching, having graced television screens, captivated audiences on YouTube, informed readers through online magazines, and enhanced product presentations in in-store displays and at prominent tradeshows. This broad distribution underscores his versatility and the consistent quality of his work across various platforms.

Beyond the technical execution, the art of editing, as practiced by Eric, demands an innate storytelling sensibility. It requires a keen eye for framing each shot to maximize its narrative potential and an intuitive understanding of how two distinct shots interact to create a cohesive and impactful transition. This blend of technical prowess and artistic vision is central to his success.

In his professional workflow, Eric primarily leverages industry-leading editing software, including DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, demonstrating his commitment to utilizing powerful tools.

Color grading is like adding the final magic touch to a video project. It's where you really set the vibe, dial in the emotional punch, and give the project its unique look. It's about making an artistic vision come to life through color and tone.

Before you get to the really creative stuff, you absolutely have to do color correction. This is super important for making sure all your shots in a scene flow together smoothly and look natural. You fix things like exposure, white balance, and overall color so every shot matches the next. This foundational uniformity is key because it gives you a solid and accurate base to build your color grade on.

Once everything's matched up and corrected, that's when the fun part of adding "flavor" really kicks off. This is where the creative process gets interesting, with client-approved mood boards and the big picture aesthetic guiding the way. Colorists, like Eric, use their skills to tweak hues, saturation, contrast, and brightness, turning plain footage into something truly captivating. You can evoke all sorts of feelings here, from warm, fuzzy nostalgia to an intense, grungy action sport feel, or even the clean white aesthetic all just by cleverly manipulating color.

Even though it has a huge impact, color is often overlooked in the whole production process. But its subtle yet powerful effect on how audiences feel and how a story is told makes it a seriously important job. A well-done color grade can really elevate a production, making it more emotionally resonant and visually appealing, while a bad one can totally mess up even the most compelling story.

For Eric, the go-to tool for this intricate and impactful process is DaVinci Resolve. It's famous for its complete set of color grading tools and its strong capabilities, letting colorists like Eric push creative limits and get that cinematic finish that truly nails the client's vision.

Coming from a family of musicians, Eric began his journey in 2000 with vinyl DJing and digital music production. This naturally evolved into sound design and audio editing for broadcast commercials.

Eric possesses comprehensive expertise in audio production and technical specifications, ensuring optimal sound for media placement. His sound engineering knowledge is extensive, covering compression, EQing, effects, and LUFs. Additionally, Eric's experience with digital and analog synthesizers is invaluable for creating atmosphere and filling sonic gaps.

He excels at directing voiceover actors to achieve desired client deliveries, drawing on his experience auditioning numerous talents for broadcast television.

Whether dealing with advanced music content like stems or royalty-free music, Eric demonstrates a professional level of sound editing and engineering rarely seen in the average video editor.

Eric's college days gave him a solid foundation in typography, and it's something he still values highly, weaving it into every design project. This background really sets him apart from a lot of self-taught video folks who often struggle with picking the right fonts and making things look clean. While others might just try things out until they work, Eric's academic training taught him to appreciate precision and pay super close attention to the tiny details in type.

His courses hammered home how important it is to never skimp on key typographic elements like font choice, the exact spacing between letters (kerning), the overall spacing of text blocks (tracking), and the vertical spacing between lines (leading). This detailed instruction helped him develop a systematic way of handling type. For every new project, Eric takes a thorough look at a bunch of factors. This includes things like who the target audience is, their age group, the overall vibe and emotion of the content, and where it'll ultimately be seen—whether it's digital, print, or broadcast.

All these things play a big part in his typographic choices, making sure the fonts and their arrangement not only read well but also really get the message and look across.

Eric's a designer whose skills go way beyond just motion graphics. He's got a whole range of design expertise, including:

Logo Design: He's great at making unique and unforgettable brand identities.
Print Layout: He whips up eye-catching and effective designs for brochures, flyers, and all sorts of printed materials.
Style Guides: He sets up solid brand guidelines to make sure everything looks consistent across the board.

UI Mobile Apps: He makes mobile apps that are both easy to use and look amazing.
Websites: He develops responsive and engaging websites that prioritize user experience and truly represent the brand.
Trade Show Mock-ups: He creates awesome visuals for exhibition booths and display elements.
His extensive experience really shows how versatile he is and how he consistently delivers top-notch design solutions for all kinds of platforms and needs.

Seriously, he's done it all!
